Our Mission and Vision
Kindness Works International Foundation, the sponsor of You Kindness, was founded in 2002 as a non-political, non-religious, 501 C3 Non-Profit Organization. You Kindness was established on the realization that Kindness can be the answer for many problems facing our nation, our people, and our world. A culture of "Kindness" can combat the ever-increasing culture of violence in our homes, our schools, and in our communities.
The following Kindness Quote by Dr. Brian Weiss forms the basis for our Mission and Vision Statement for Kindness Works Foundation.
"Kindness and caring cannot be reserved only for families and friends. Otherwise, society will not change at all. Strangers must approach strangers, we need to reach out to all others. If we could get everyone to perform a few acts of kindness each day, we could change the world.” Dr. Brian Weiss.
Kindness Starts with you
and that's why it's "You" Kindness
Kindness starts with you, in your heart, mind and spirit. That’s why it's called “You-Kindness.” It typically begins with a single kindness thought which could be as simple as a smile. Studies have shown that even small acts of kindness create good feelings. We created a "Kindness T-Shirt" that says simply, "Be Kind, Kindness is Good". The stress of everyday life, can be challenging, but as Dr. Weiss said, "If we could get everyone to perform a few acts of kindness each day, we could change the world.” However the most important change will happen within YOU!
This vital message needs to be part of teaching curriculums in our schools. Companies can make Kindness part of their training programs. Why? It's good for people, and good for business. Visionary companies can lead by creating Kindness programs for their employees and their communities where they do business. Kindness is a renewable resource that benefits everyone. Although there is a lot of divisions and it seems you can't get people to agree on anything, there is one thing that most people would find agreement; and that is the World would be a far better place if people were just more kind to one another.
The purpose of Kindness Works is to convey the simple message that Kindness is GOOD because Kindness WORKS. Just as light displaces darkness, Kindness displaces violence. A simple smile speaks loudly and creates smiles, which will be replicated and passed on. It's our vision and mission to get that message throughout America and around the globe to start ripples, and then waves of Kindness that will change the World!
